The DS Electronics Terneo SN differential gutter heating thermostat is built to handle increased power—its output relay is rated at 32A. This digital DIN-rail thermostat is highly suitable for ice and snow melting systems on roofs, ensuring optimal operation of your gutter heating. It does this by carefully controlling the temperature range within which icicles or ice dams typically form. The gutter heating temperature controller significantly saves electricity by keeping the system off when the outside temperature is either too cold for effective melting or warm enough for natural ice and snow to melt.

The Terneo SN gutter heating thermostat is incredibly easy to set up using just three buttons! The clear digital display shows the current measured temperature and system messages, while also simplifying menu navigation.

Key Features and Technical Details

  • Installation: The kit includes the DIN-rail thermostat and a temperature sensor with a connecting wire. The digital thermostat mounts easily onto a standard DIN rail in an electrical panel. The outdoor temperature sensor should be installed on the building's northern exterior wall, in a location protected from direct sunlight and precipitation.

  • Overheat Protection: If the internal temperature of the device casing reaches +80°C, the load is automatically disconnected for safety, and a warning flashes on the display (1 time per second). Operation resumes once the temperature drops to +60°C. If this protection is triggered more than 5 times, the thermostat shuts down completely. It will only restart when the temperature drops to +60°C and the user manually presses a button on the controller after inspecting the system.

  • Universal Compatibility: This versatile thermostat can be used with heating cables from all manufacturers. The device operates seamlessly with both analog (R10) and digital (D18) sensors.
