The Eberle DTR-E 3102 bimetal gutter heating thermostat is designed for melting ice and snow on roofs and in gutters by regulating the operation of heating cables. The thermostat is completely moisture-proof (IP65) and is perfectly suited for installation in the immediate vicinity of the heating cables, in a location shaded from direct sunlight — usually on the northern side of the building.

Gutter heating thermostat – Configuration: The gutter thermostat is adjusted using the two knobs located under the cover. One knob is used to set the minimum sub-zero temperature down to which the heating cable remains active, while the other knob sets the maximum above-zero temperature.

Normally, gutter heating cables are configured to operate within the temperature range of -3°C to +2°C. If the roof has poor thermal insulation or features such as skylights, the minimum sub-zero setpoint can be lowered further according to the specific heating needs of that roof.
