Gutter heating cable thermostat – Configuration: The minimum sub-zero temperature at which the heating cable remains active is set with one knob, while the maximum above-zero temperature is set with the other. Typically, gutter heating cables are configured to operate within the temperature range of -3°C to +2°C. If the roof has poor thermal insulation or features like skylights, the minimum temperature setpoint can be lowered further to meet the specific heating needs of that roof.

To make setting the temperature range easier, this gutter thermostat is equipped with 3 different LED indicators:

  • Red light: Indicates that the heating cable is switched on.

  • Green light: Indicates that the outdoor temperature is warmer than the set maximum limit.

  • Yellow light: Indicates that the outdoor temperature is colder than the set minimum limit at which the heating cable would still operate.

This DIN-rail controller is generally used to manage heating cables with a total power of up to 5kW (using a contactor). For larger capacities, we recommend using the OJ ETR2 DIN-rail thermostat, which is equipped with an ice and snow sensor.
