Curved Ceramic Infrared Heating Element FTE / HTE

Ceramicx FTE and HTE are curved, solid-cast ceramic infrared heating elements designed for industrial process heating. They emit consistent long-wave infrared radiation within the useful 2–10 µm wavelength range and are suitable for thermoforming, plastics processing, packaging machinery, drying, curing and material preheating. Available with a standard voltage of 230 V, power ratings from 125 W to 1000 W depending on the model, and an optional built-in type K thermocouple.

Durable Ceramic Infrared Heating Elements for Industrial Applications

Ceramicx FTE and HTE are industry-standard curved ceramic infrared heaters. The high-temperature FeCrAl resistance wire is embedded within a specially formulated solid-cast ceramic body. This robust construction provides consistent radiant heat, a long operating life and reliable performance in demanding industrial processes.

The curved trough shape helps concentrate the infrared radiation towards the surface being heated. FTE and HTE elements are therefore particularly suitable for applications where the heater is positioned further away from the target material or where focused and consistent process heat is required.

The heating elements operate within a useful wavelength range of 2–10 µm and have a maximum permissible operating temperature of 750°C.

Typical Applications

Ceramic infrared heating elements are commonly used for:

  • thermoforming and plastics processing;
  • packaging and shrink-wrapping machinery;
  • drying paints, coatings and other materials;
  • curing adhesives and composite materials;
  • preheating materials and components;
  • food processing and heating equipment;
  • industrial drying systems and infrared ovens;
  • replacing ceramic heating elements in existing machinery;
  • infrared saunas, when used as part of a properly designed heating system.

FTE or HTE – Which Model Should You Choose?

The FTE Full Trough Element is a full-size ceramic infrared heating element. It is suitable for equipment requiring a larger heated area or higher heating power.

  • Dimensions: 245 × 60 × 35 mm
  • Power range: 150–1000 W
  • Standard voltage: 230 V

The HTE Half Trough Element is a compact half-size ceramic heating element. It is suitable for smaller equipment, restricted installation spaces and systems requiring separately controlled heating zones.

  • Dimensions: 122 × 60 × 35 mm
  • Power range: 125–500 W
  • Standard voltage: 230 V

The correct model and wattage depend on the material being heated, the required temperature, the distance between the heating element and the target surface, and the desired heating speed.

Available Variations and Accessories

In addition to the standard 230 V models, the following options are available on request:

  • alternative wattages and supply voltages;
  • heating elements with a built-in type K thermocouple;
  • different power lead lengths;
  • alternative terminals and mounting solutions;
  • reflectors suitable for ceramic infrared elements;
  • infrared heating modules incorporating multiple elements.

This product is a heating component intended for installation in suitable equipment or a reflector. It is not a complete standalone space heater. Temperature control, electrical protection and installation must be designed according to the equipment and operating conditions.

If faster heat-up, more uniform surface radiation and reduced rear heat loss are required, see also our hollow FFEH and SFEH ceramic infrared heating elements.
