ZUBR D2 is a single-phase voltage monitoring relay designed for installation in an electrical distribution board. It protects electrical equipment in homes, offices and other buildings against overvoltage, undervoltage and dangerous voltage deviations caused by neutral conductor failure. When the mains voltage exceeds the selected limits, the relay disconnects the load and restores power after the voltage has returned to normal.

The relay is available as the ZUBR D2-40A and ZUBR D2-63A. It is suitable for protecting household appliances, heating equipment, refrigerators, air conditioners, computers and other devices sensitive to voltage fluctuations.

ZUBR D2 does not replace a Type 1 or Type 2 surge protection device (SPD). It complements distribution board protection by disconnecting the load during dangerous mains voltage deviations.

How does the voltage relay work?

ZUBR D2 continuously monitors the mains voltage. If the voltage falls below the selected lower limit or rises above the upper limit, the relay disconnects the connected load.

Once the voltage has returned to the permitted range, power is restored after the selected delay. This function helps protect refrigerators, heat pumps, air conditioners and other equipment sensitive to frequent switching.

The reconnection delay can be adjusted between 3 and 600 seconds. A delay of approximately two to three minutes is recommended for refrigerators and air-conditioning equipment.

True RMS and ProModel

True RMS technology provides accurate voltage measurement even when the waveform differs from an ideal sine wave. This reduces measurement errors caused by interference in the electrical network.

ProModel evaluates both the level and duration of a voltage deviation. This prevents unnecessary disconnection during brief and harmless fluctuations while ensuring a fast response to dangerous voltage conditions.

Overheating protection and alarm log

The built-in temperature sensor disconnects the load if the internal temperature of the relay becomes too high. Normal operation resumes after the temperature has fallen to a safe level.

The alarm log stores up to 100 recent events. It can be used to check when and why the relay disconnected the load, including overvoltage, undervoltage and overheating events.

Choosing the correct model

ModelRated currentPermitted current for up to 10 minutes
ZUBR D2-40A40 A50 A
ZUBR D2-63A63 A80 A

The rated current applies to AC-1 loads. Equipment with a high starting current or loads exceeding the relay’s rated current must be controlled through a suitably rated contactor.

Installation

ZUBR D2 is installed inside an electrical distribution board on a standard 35 mm DIN rail. The device is 36 mm wide and occupies two standard modules.

Installation and electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician. The voltage limits and reconnection delay must be selected according to the requirements of the protected equipment.
