The electric drum heater is designed to heat substances stored in drums, maintain a consistent temperature and reduce viscosity. The flexible heating jacket helps prevent the contents from freezing or thickening, making viscous materials easier to pump, mix and dispense.

The drum heater is suitable for heating water, oil, diesel fuel, resin, petroleum jelly, wax, fats, syrups, adhesives and other industrial materials. Models are available for standard 25/30, 50/60, 105 and 200 litre drums.

The heating jacket is manufactured from Teflon-coated polyester and contains polyester insulation and a silicone heating wire. An integrated safety thermostat provides additional protection.

The standard model has an IP40 protection rating. An IP54 version is available on request for damp environments or locations where the heater may be exposed to water splashes.

Temperature control and heating time

The digital thermostat allows the operating temperature to be set between 0 and 90 °C. The actual temperature of the drum contents depends on the material being heated, drum material, ambient temperature, heat loss and the selected heater power.

In the manufacturer’s example test, a full-size 1200 W heater warmed 200 litres of water from +18 to approximately +80 °C in around 24 hours. A half-height 530 W model warmed 200 litres of water from +20 to approximately +40 °C in around 24 hours. Actual heating times may vary depending on operating conditions.
