The ATEX drum heater is designed for the safe heating of liquids, pastes and solid materials stored in steel or plastic drums in potentially explosive industrial environments. The flexible heating jacket helps maintain the required process temperature, reduce product viscosity and prevent the contents from freezing or solidifying.
The drum heater is suitable for the oil and gas, chemical, pharmaceutical and other industries where potentially explosive gases or combustible dust may be present. Standard models are available for drums from 25 to 200 litres. Custom sizes and configurations are also available on request.

Temperature control and safety
The ATEX drum heater must be operated with a suitable ATEX-approved temperature controller and independent temperature limiter. The controller can be ordered separately or the heater can be connected to an existing ATEX-compliant control system.
The applicable temperature class and maximum operating temperature depend on the limiter setting, drum material and selected configuration. The maximum operating temperature for plastic drums is +70 °C. For steel drums, the maximum temperature is +180 or +200 °C, depending on the model and configuration.
