Ground thawing mat
Ground thawing mat for thawing of cable drums and the ground.
Additionally, it is used to prevent concrete from freezing. The thawing mat is weather-resistant – with moisture protection rating IP67, and is used in many places during winter where quick and easy melting of ice and snow is essential. The ice and snow thawing mat has been developed with the strictest safety requirements in mind. The ground heating mat is equipped with a grounded plug, ensuring safe use. They are easy to connect to the power supply and can be quickly repositioned if necessary.
The ground thawing mat is available in the following sizes:
50850101: 1.0m x 3.0m, 230V, 850W
Price: 1pc €385 + VAT (In stock)
50850161: 0.8m x 6.0m, 230V, 1500W
Price: 1pc €570 + VAT (In stock)
The ground thawing mat is used for: thawing the ground, heating concrete to prevent freezing, heating sand, water and sewage pipes, or hay bales, as well as temporarily melting ice and snow on roofs in critical situations. It can also be used for melting ice and snow associated with electrical and telecommunications cables, machinery, and masonry work. Additionally, it is useful for tank heating.
Depending on the density of the ground to be thawed, the severity of frost, etc., the ground thawing mat can thaw 30cm to 60cm in 24 hours. The heating mat has an inner surface coated with foil, which helps it perform its job efficiently. We also recommend covering the heating mat or mats with a tarpaulin to reduce external influences (such as wind).
An alternative to ground thawing is to use either outdoor or underfloor heating cables, or an outdoor heating mat. The heating cable is installed either with fastening tape or using a fine reinforcement mesh, with a power output of 250-350W per square meter. This is sufficient to thaw the ground at temperatures down to -10°C. For faster results or in colder conditions, a maximum output of up to 400W per square meter can be considered. Exceeding this is not reasonable due to the overly tight installation spacing of the heating cable. The installation is then covered with construction foil, insulation, and tarpaulin.
