A thin and flexible silicone heater pad provides fast, even surface heating where a conventional rigid heater cannot be installed. The self-adhesive heating element attaches directly to the surface of a battery, tank, filter, electrical cabinet, oil sump, compressor or other equipment. Available in 12 V and 230 V versions for frost protection, condensation prevention and maintaining the required operating temperature.
A silicone heater pad is a thin and flexible heating element with a self-adhesive backing on one side. It attaches directly to the surface being heated, delivering heat precisely where it is needed and providing fast, even surface heating where a conventional rigid heater cannot be installed.
The silicone rubber heater is suitable for frost protection, condensation prevention and maintaining the required operating temperature of equipment, liquids and materials. Its moisture- and chemical-resistant construction makes it suitable for industrial equipment, outdoor enclosures, vehicles, laboratory devices and automation systems.

Battery heating and 12 V systems
A 12 V heating element is suitable for batteries, energy storage systems and other low-voltage applications. A battery heater helps maintain a more suitable battery temperature in cold conditions, supporting reliable operation, charging and available power.
Possible applications include:
• batteries in cars and industrial vehicles;
• batteries in boats, caravans and motorhomes;
• solar energy storage systems and outdoor battery cabinets;
• batteries used in telecommunications and measuring equipment;
• frost protection for small 12 V tanks, filters and technical components.
Tank and vessel heating
A tank heater is attached to the outside of a tank, vessel or reservoir. It helps prevent liquids from freezing, maintains the required temperature and improves the flow of oils, greases and other viscous substances in cold conditions.
The silicone heating element is suitable for:
• heating small water and liquid tanks;
• frost protection for pressure vessels and water pressure tanks;
• maintaining the temperature of oils and lubricants;
• heating dosing tanks and process vessels;
• heating the bottom or side of a metal tank.
Filter, pump and valve heating
Moisture or liquids inside filters, pumps and valves may freeze, become more viscous or interfere with equipment operation at low temperatures. A flexible self-adhesive heating element makes it possible to heat a metal filter, pump or valve housing exactly where heat is required.

Electrical cabinet and electronics heating
An electrical cabinet heater helps prevent condensation and protects electronics against malfunctions caused by cold and moisture. The silicone heating element is attached to a suitable metal surface, such as the mounting plate or inner wall of an enclosure.
Suitable applications include:
• outdoor electrical cabinets;
• automation and control cabinets;
• telecommunications equipment enclosures;
• security and surveillance systems;
• ATMs and payment terminals;
• measuring, communication and control equipment.
If the main purpose is to heat the air inside an electrical cabinet, a dedicated enclosure heater may be a better solution. A silicone heater pad is ideal when heat needs to be transferred directly to a specific surface or component.
Oil sump, engine and compressor heating
A self-adhesive heating element can be used to heat a metal oil sump, compressor, gearbox or hydraulic tank. Heating helps keep oil more fluid at low temperatures and makes it easier to start equipment in cold conditions.
Applications include:
• engine oil sump or oil pan heating;
• compressor crankcase heating;
• preheating gearboxes and reduction gears;
• heating hydraulic tanks and oil reservoirs;
• frost protection for technical components in heat pumps and refrigeration equipment.
Industrial surface heating
A silicone heating element is suitable for the local heating of metal surfaces, work plates, moulds and production equipment. Higher-powered models provide a faster temperature rise and are suitable for processes requiring precise and even heat distribution.

• measuring and analytical equipment;
• preventing condensation, snow and ice formation.
How to choose the right heating element
When selecting the appropriate dimensions and power, consider the size and material of the heated surface, the minimum ambient temperature, the required operating temperature, heat loss and the available supply voltage.
A 12 V heater is primarily intended for vehicles, batteries and other low-voltage systems. A 230 V heating element is suitable for stationary equipment, tanks, electrical cabinets and industrial surface heating.
Lower-powered models are suitable for frost protection and temperature maintenance. Higher-powered elements provide faster heating but must be used with a suitable temperature sensor, thermostat or temperature limiter.
Installation and temperature control
Install the heating element on a clean, dry, smooth and grease-free surface. Press the entire element firmly and evenly against the heated material, avoiding air pockets, wrinkles and overlapping sections.
The heating element must not be cut, punctured or operated without firm contact with a suitable heat-dissipating surface. It is not self-regulating. Its operating temperature depends on its power, the heated surface, ambient conditions and the rate of heat transfer.
For safe and stable temperature control, use a suitable thermostat, temperature sensor or thermal protection device. Temperature control is particularly important with higher-powered models.
The electrical connection of a 230 V heating element must be carried out by a suitably qualified professional. A 12 V element requires a power supply, wiring and temperature controller rated for the corresponding current load.
Custom-made heating elements
If none of the standard dimensions or power ratings are suitable, Holroyd can manufacture a silicone rubber heater according to the customer’s requirements. The dimensions, shape, voltage, power, cable position and length, mounting method and temperature-control solution can all be customised.
The heating element can be manufactured with holes and cut-outs and equipped with an integrated thermostat, temperature sensor, thermal protection device or additional thermal insulation.
