Temperature limits and control

The maximum permitted temperature depends on the IBC material, its contents and the selected heater configuration. The manufacturer specifies maximum temperatures of +180 or +200 °C for steel IBC containers and +80 °C for plastic IBC containers.

The listed 0–200 °C range refers to the heater configuration and must not be interpreted as the permitted temperature for every container or substance. The maximum temperature specified by the IBC manufacturer and the product supplier must always be observed.

The temperature class—T6, T5, T4 or T3—is determined by the temperature limiter setting. The heater can be operated with a separately supplied ATEX controller or integrated into the customer’s existing ATEX-compliant control system.

The optional insulating lid does not contain a heating element. It reduces heat loss and can improve the efficiency of the complete heating system.

Important: the correct heater configuration, temperature class and control system must be selected according to the substance being heated, IBC material, required temperature, ambient conditions and hazardous-area classification. Installation and electrical connection must be carried out by qualified personnel in accordance with the applicable ATEX requirements.
