Installation guides

Practical guidance for planning and installing heating cables, mats, thermostats and frost protection systems.

Floor heating installation

Floor heating installation

Before installation, check the substrate, choose the correct output and follow the minimum bend radius and spacing of the cable or mat.

  • Prepare an installation layout before fixing the cable.
  • Measure resistance before, during and after installation.
  • Install the floor sensor in a conduit between two cable runs.
Pipe frost protection

Pipe frost protection

Pipe heating depends on pipe diameter, insulation thickness, ambient temperature and whether the cable is installed on or inside the pipe.

  • Use suitable fixing and avoid damaging the cable.
  • Insulate the pipe along the full heated section.
  • For drinking water pipes, use only a cable approved for that purpose.
Roof and gutter heating

Roof and gutter heating

In roof systems, cover the whole water path: eaves, gutters, downpipes and critical transitions.

  • Choose a UV and weather resistant cable with correct fixing parts.
  • Use temperature and moisture based control when automatic operation is required.
  • Avoid cable crossing and mechanical stress on sharp edges.
